Crossing the Atlantic with Blades of Oary
Four women. One ocean. 4,800 kilometres of rowing.
This December, the incredible women behind Blades of Oary are setting off on one pretty epic adventure, rowing across the Atlantic Ocean as part of the World’s Toughest Row.
Yep, the entire Atlantic!
They’ll be spending their days and nights out at sea, taking turns rowing, navigating unpredictable weather and tackling whatever the ocean throws their way.
When we first heard about what these girls were planning, we were blown away. And once we learnt more about why they were doing it, we knew we wanted to get behind them.
More Than Just an Ocean Crossing
What we love most about the Blades of Oary crew is that this adventure is about so much more than rowing across an ocean.
These four women are on a mission to inspire more girls and women to get out there, chase big adventures and see what’s possible.
They’re passionate about keeping young girls involved in sport, building confidence and creating more opportunities for women in adventure sports.
It’s about showing the next generation of girls that they belong out there too, whether that’s in the ocean, on the field or taking on something completely outside their comfort zone and we couldn’t love that message more.
A Little Sun Protection for a Very Big Adventure
Our love for the ocean is what started CORD & ROY, along with wanting better sun protection while doing the things we love.
So when the opportunity came up to support the Blades of Oary girls, we were pretty excited to send some of our surf hats along for the ride.
We’ve always believed that protecting your skin shouldn’t mean missing out on the things you love.
Whether it’s a morning surf, a full day on the water or rowing across the Atlantic Ocean, a good hat goes a long way!
With plenty of sun, salt and wind ahead of them, we’re stoked knowing our hats will be out there helping keep the girls protected.
Who would’ve thought our surf hats would end up rowing across the Atlantic?!
Cheering You On, Girls!
We can’t even begin to imagine what rowing across an entire ocean will be like, but we have so much admiration for these four women and what they’re setting out to achieve.
We’re so happy to play a small part in their adventure and can’t wait to follow along as they make their way across the Atlantic.
