The Ocean Health Lab is a first-of-its-kind microplastic research facility located in Sydney Harbour near the National Maritime Museum, housed within a repurposed shipping container. This off-grid lab, powered by renewable energy, serves as a hub for critical ocean health research, community engagement, and advocacy.

At the Ocean Health Lab, Seabin Foundation collects and analyzes marine debris, particularly microplastics, from Seabin devices deployed in Sydney Harbour. This research provides valuable data on the state of pollution in our waters, informing solutions to reduce plastic waste at its source.

The lab isn’t just a research facility; it’s a community space where workshops, guided tours, and educational events take place. Visitors can see firsthand how plastic pollution affects marine life and learn about Seabin’s efforts to keep our oceans clean.
