Article: Surfing on the Pacific North West

Surfing on the Pacific North West

There’s something magical about summer on the Pacific Northwest of Canada, especially on Vancouver Island. It used to be my home, and every return brings back that feeling of freedom and adventure. The island is a haven for surfers and hikers alike, with its epic mountains, wild coastline, and untouched beauty.
This past summer, I took my Aussie partner on an adventure to Tofino, a gem on the west side of the island. It’s a place where the ocean meets the rainforest, and where we got to test out our new CORD & ROY summer collection. We surfed under those classic cloudy skies in full steamers, but even in the mist, the landscape and waves are breathtaking. There’s nothing quite like surfing in Tofino—the beauty of the surroundings is unbeatable, no matter the conditions.
Our surf bucket hats held up perfectly. The lightweight, durable designs provided sun protection and comfort in and out of the water. Tofino’s weather may change on a dime, but it’s a special place where nature takes center stage, and we loved every second of testing our gear in such a stunning location.
If you ever get the chance to visit this corner of the world, take it. You won’t regret it—Tofino has a way of capturing your heart.
In even more exciting news, we’re now stocking our surf hats at the best surf shop in town—Surf Sister! Located in Tofino, this shop is at the heart of the local surf scene. For those who don’t know, Tofino is a small town on Vancouver Island’s west coast, sitting on a peninsula within Clayoquot Sound. The area is surrounded by wild natural beauty—think lakes, inlets, and ancient rainforest. And the beaches? They’re a surfer’s paradise. Year-round waves at Cox Bay, Chestermans Beach, and Long Beach, part of the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, make it a must-visit for any ocean lover.
Next time you’re in town, be sure to drop by Surf Sister and check out our surf hats & caps in person!
Thanks for tuning in,
'Dani' from Team CORD & ROY
